Monte Carlo report

Well as you can see from my small update, it didnt go to plan, however i can honestly say I had no regrets and played my hands the best i could.
Arrived at Nice airport 2 hours late from Luton, usual delays by easyjet!
Got to the hotel which was amazing. What was more amazing was that the hotel was 750 euros a night! Great hotel but 750 euros im not sure about. Maybe the rich folk dont bat an eyelid, so always nice when its paid for through the package i won.
The picture above is a view from my room.
The night we arrived we went to the Pokerstars opening party at Jimmyz night club which was on the resort and had a good time. Spoker to Joe Hachem and Jonny Lodden both who were really nice guys. Jonny was off his face but a great character.
The was day 1a and day 1b - 2 day ones, i played on the 2nd.
I had Devilfish on my table, and i can honestly say that he dominated the table. I played pretty tight and when i did raise with rags or call with 79o i was lucky enough to hit the flop and gain some momentum.
I finished day 1 with 23,300. Average stack was 32000.
In the first level of day 2 I got up to 62,000 with average stack being 36,000 so i was in great shape and very confident.
I got most of my chips from 1 hand when guy UTG raised to 2400. I had JJ and flat called. Guy next to me and next to act raised to 7000. Everyone folded and original raiser folded AK. I called the bet and the flop was 642 rainbow. I checked and he bet out 12500. I really had to think about this. I wasnt sure what hand to put him on. AK AQ, KK, QQ.... i thought hard aboout this and knew a wrong move and i could be out of the tourney. After about 4 or 5 mins I went all in for my 20,000 and it didnt take him long to fold. If he wanted a call would he of bet 12500?
In the 2nd level, I had AQ. Guy under the gun was all in for 4800 chips. I made it 10000 to go and got 1 caller - last to go and in position.
The flop came AQJ with 2 hearts. He bet out 10000. Now this guy was doing this all day, seeing a flop and betting out - out of the numerous times he had done this, he always folded to a reraise. I thought about this and thought the only hands he could have are Ax AK AJ, possibly KK. Who would of thought that this muppet would of called a 10k bet with a 42k stack, so 25% of his chips on K10off?
I reraised and he reraised, i called and lost the hand. No help from the turn or flop.
I was fuming and tbh that just tilted me. It was a 90k pot that would of probably put me top 5 in chips. I honestly though he has AK and was protecting the flush draw and st8 draw.
I had 20k left with still a great chance and a few hands later lost it to another guy who raised with q8o v my AA. i reraised to 10k and he called. Blinds are only 300/600 at this stage.
Flop was q102 i went all in, he called and turn was an 8. Rvr was no help.
To say in pissed is an understatement but i knwo my time will come. I have no regret about the way i played and this is my 2nd major tourney and i can say that i have learnt from the experience.
I met a lot of poker faces out there, both in the tourney room and at the Black diamond club where DTD held a party run. It was always going to be busy and with all the big UK poker names there. I spoke with Ram Vasari, Simon Nowab, Julian Gardner, Devil fish and many more, all thourougly pleasant and up for a chat.
I met a couple of guys at Luton airport and we shared a cab to monte carlo from nice. Both great guys and congrats are in order for Adam who played the 500 euro event, with one rebuy or addon. Adam came 4th for over 18,000 euro. Well done mate!
Well im ready for my next live event. Im probably going to Manchester later this month for the £1000 buy in. Its the UKGPT event and the last one was last month in March and was won by Micheal Greco for a cool £100k.
See you at the tables.
